Acrylic aquariums

Acrylic aquariums are an alternative to the traditional glass rectangular tanks. Although each kind of tank has its pros and cons, the acrylic containers have many benefits that outweigh the cons associated with them:

• The material is lighter and is less breakable.
• You will see less refraction and truer colors than glass.
• They also come in many shapes, a nice departure from the rectangle.
• Acrylic aquariums can also be drilled into to accommodate a filtration system, making the filter less of an eyesore and keeping it out of the way.

You will need a stand that can support the whole bottom surface, otherwise bowing may occur. Also, the top of acrylic aquariums will need more support than glass tanks.
